MAKING AMERICAN ARTISTS
Stories from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, 1776-1976

On view at Albuquerque Museum
May 18–August 11, 2024

Coming to Albuquerque Museum this May is a new exploration of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts storied collection, Making American Artists. The exhibition presents over one hundred of the most recognizable American artists, including Mary Cassatt, Barkley L. Hendricks, Edward Hopper, Georgia O’Keeffe, Laura Wheeler Waring, Winslow Homer, Andrew Wyeth, and many more.

Making American Artists features works from PAFA’s esteemed collection that helped define new chapters in the history of American art. Amidst this expansive selection emerge the compelling stories of underrepresented artists who found unparalleled support and inspiration at PAFA.

MasterWorks is a sponsorship program of Albuquerque Museum Foundation designed to provide important funding to the Museum for exhibition support. To become a sponsor select an object from one of over 100 remarkable works of art in sponsorship levels ranging from $250 to $1,500.

MasterWorks sponsors are celebrated in the following ways:

  • Your name acknowledged on a label near the object(s) you sponsor for the length of the exhibition.
  • Invitations to sponsors-only, curator-led gallery tours.
  • Individuals sponsoring $500 or more receive an invitation to a VIP exhibition preview and reception with cocktails and appetizers.
